The behaviour of small amounts of Fe in brass is investigated using Mössbauer spectroscopy. Different samples, made from the same ingot material, but run through different annealing temperatures and duration times and then quenched to room temperature, have different amount of γ-Fe. The present work shows that a suitable heat treatment can increase the amount of these precipitations and, that a heat treatment at 650°C is the optimal one for having the highest amount of this phase. 相似文献

The dissociative recombination of LiH+ ions with low-energy electrons is observed at a storage ring and the final states are analyzed using fragment imaging and field ionization techniques. The rate coefficient is found to be larger than its estimated value used in astrophysical models. Mostly the highest energetically possible Rydberg states of the lithium atom are populated by the reaction, indicating a common trend for molecular recombination via the noncrossing mode. 相似文献

Two octave-spanning optical-frequency combs (750-MHz comb spacing) are phase locked to a common continuous-wave laser diode. The measured instability of the heterodyne beat between the two combs demonstrates that the intrinsic fractional frequency noise of a comb is =6.3 chi 10(-16) in 1 s of averaging across the ~300-THz bandwidth. Furthermore, the average frequencies of the elements of the two combs are found to agree within an uncertainty of 4 chi 10(-17) across the entire octave. We demonstrate the possibility of transfering the stability and accuracy of the best current optical standards to ~500,000 individual oscillators across the visible and near-infrared spectrum. 相似文献

This paper describes an approach to manufacture hierarchical composites from environmentally friendly materials by grafting cellulose whiskers onto regenerated cellulose fibers (Cordenka 700). Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis were performed to verify the degree of modification. The mechanical properties of the unmodified and modified fibers were analyzed using fiber bundle tensile static and loading–unloading tests. To show the effect of cellulose whiskers grafting on the Cordenka fibers, epoxy based composites were manufactured and tensile tests done on transverse uni-directional specimens. The mechanical properties were significantly increased by fiber modification and addition of the nano-phase into composite reinforced with micro-sized fibers. 相似文献

An efficient Cartesian cut-cell/level-set method based on a multiple grid approach to simulate turbulent turbomachinery flows is presented. The finite-volume approach in an unstructured hierarchical Cartesian setup with a sharp representation of the complex moving boundaries embedded into the computational domain, which are described by multiple level-sets, ensures a strict conservation of mass, momentum, and energy. Furthermore, an efficient kinematic motion level-set interface method for the rotation of embedded boundaries described by multiple level-set fields on a computational domain distributed over several processors is introduced. This method allows the simulation of multiple boundaries rotating relatively to each other in a fixed frame of reference. To demonstrate the efficiency of the numerical method and the quality of the computed findings the generic test problem of a rotating cylinder surrounded by a stationary hull and the flow over a ducted rotating axial fan with a stationary turbulence generating grid at the inflow are simulated.
